Regional Info Day at the University “Aleksandër Xhuvani” of Elbasan, held on November 30th, 2016.

The Albanian Erasmus+ Office organized on November 30th, 2016, at the University “Aleksandër Xhuvani” of Elbasan premises, the regional ‘Info Day in Erasmus+’.

This event served to promote the Higher Education International dimension of the Erasmus+ programme, which includes for Albania:

 Key Action 1

– Credit Mobility for staff and students, through International Credit Mobility activities;

  • Key Action 2

– Capacity Building in Higher Education, which includes a mobility component for the Western Balkans (Mobility Strand);

  • Jean Monnetprogramme focused in European Integration issues;

 This activity drew the interest and participation of the University of Elbasan’s academic and administrative staff, as well as their students. NEO staff delivered presentations for each programme component and provided information on the application process and on ways to write successful proposals for such opportunities.

Field Monitoring Visit for the Erasmus+ ICM projects at University of Elbasan.

The NEO + staff conducted on November 30th, 2016 the field monitoring visit for the International Credit Mobility projects in implementation by the University of Elbasan.

This event served to ensure that all binding documents for ICM implementation were signed, for monitoring the fairness of criteria used and transparency of the selection process of participation in mobilities, to enquire on service provision to ICM participants and recognition of the credits earned by them during the mobility period by University of Elbasan, as well as for NEO staff to give recommendations for the improvement of ICM projects implementation in the future.

During the September 2015- November 2016 timeframe, the University of Elbasan has implemented 7 Erasmus + ICM agreements with HEI’s from 6 programme countries.

Field Monitoring Visit for the Tempus Project “Network for Post Graduate Masters in Cultural Heritage and Tourism Management in Balkan Countries – CHTMBAL”.

The NEO staff conducted the field monitoring visit on the Tempus CHTMBAL project. This activity was organized at the University “Luigj Gurakuqi” of Shkodra premises, on November 22nd, 2016.

The 3 year Tempus CHTMBAL project aimed at the development of a Network for Post Graduate Masters in Cultural Heritage and Tourism Management in the Western Balkans and supported the creation of two pilot master courses in Partner Countries. The project was coordinated by the University “G.d’Annunzio” Chieti-Pescara, in Italy and involved 10 partner institutions from Italy, Spain, Poland, Kosovo and Albania.

The National HERE Seminar on “Albanian Qualification Framework” held on November 7th, 2016.

The Albanian Erasmus + Office in cooperation with the Albanian HERE team (Higher Education Reform Experts), organized on November 7th, 2016 at the University of Tirana’s Faculty of Social Sciences premises the national seminar on the “Albanian Qualification Framework”.

The HERE seminar served the reflection and discussion among academic staff, experts and government representatives on the recent developments pertaining the Albanian Qualification Framework and their implications to the Higher Education system and society at large, as well the presentation and lessons to be learned from the Croatia’s NQF case study.

This event brought together representatives from different Albanian universities, the Ministry of Education and Sports, employers’ organizations, national and EU experts etc. 

In the end, the seminar conclusions were structured in the form of document of recommendations to be shared with the Ministry of Education and Sports and pertinent government agencies.

Invitation to the National HERE Seminar on “Albanian Qualification Framework” on November 7th, 2016

The Albanian Erasmus + Office in cooperation with the Albanian HERE team (Higher Education Reform Experts), will organize on November 7th, 2016 at the premises of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Tirana, the national seminar on the “Albanian Qualification Framework”. (As detailed in the programme below).

The HERE seminar will serve the introduction and discussion of current developments to the Albanian Qualification Framework and its implications in the Higher Education system and society at large. It will bring together the management level and academic members of Albanian universities, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Education and Sports, government agencies in the Higher Education field, national and EU experts etc.
