Study in Europe Fair in Tirana 26 October

On October 26, at Hilton Garden Inn Hotel was organized Study in Europe Fair in Tirana. Academics, researchers from 34 Countries and Albanian students gathered in the same place to enrich contacts and learn about the Erasmus + program. Admission was free for all categories. The booth of the National Erasmus + Office was visited by over 300 students and parents as well as over 100 academics that were interested in students and staff mobilities and opportunities as well as more knowledge about the internship and master’s and doctoral programmes. Joint Mater Mundus and Marie Currie programmes, two main Erasmus+ programmes that took more attentions from the visitors.

The new open call of the Joint Master Mundus, and “how to apply” were introduced.

Erasmus+ Contact Seminar with the Western Balkans

Venue: Tirana International Hotel, Tiranë, Shqipëri

On 24-25 October, at Tirana International Hotel was organized the “Erasmus+ Contact Seminar with the Western Balkans”. The seminar gathered around 200 representatives from higher education institutions from all 34 Erasmus+ programme countries, as well as from the Western Balkan partner countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Kosovo*). The aim was to increase the number of applications within the region under the next Erasmus+ call for proposals by offering concrete networking opportunities.

The contact seminar covered all international actions of the Erasmus+ programme, with a focus on International Credit Mobility and capacity building in higher education. As for previous editions, the event included networking sessions and a series of workshops addressing issues, such as the mutual recognition of qualifications and learning periods abroad, Erasmus+ application forms, selection and support for participants.

During the second day of the activity, Albanian HEIs were trained and met different HEIS from the programme countries and Western Balkans.

Meeting EACEA and 2019 Call’s Albanian Coordinators

On October 24, 2019, the 2019 Call, granted Albanian Coordinators at the “Capacity Building” program, met with the representatives of EACEA, Anila TROSHANI and Inmaculada RODRIGUEZ. During the 2019 Call of the CBHE programme, Albania was granted with 10 projects, 5 of which are Albanian HEI Coordinators. In total there are 9 projects of the KA2 program, led by HEIs in Albania. The meeting served as a fruitful training for the Coordinators, especially the younger ones, and the sharing of experiences between the coordinators with more experience was very important element. EACEA representatives suggested, advised and addressed the issues of the Albanian Coordinators.

Institutional FMV, EACEA and NEO at University of Durrës (UAMD)

On October 23, at the premises of the “Aleksandër Moisiu” University of Durrës, the institutional monitoring visit was held by the ZKE + staff and the representatives of the EACEA agency, Anila Troshani and Inmaculada Rodriguez.

The agenda of the monitoring visit consisted on the recognition of the capacities of the institution, the infrastructure of growth and dissemination, the institution’s strategies of regarding internationalization and applications in Erasmus + programs.

The second part of the agenda of monitoring visit focused on monitoring of granted CBHE projects supported by the Erasmus +. Albanian partners of the ALMARS Project and the DiMTV Project presented their working-team. The ALMARS project will develop a joint master with European partners of the project for marine fishing in Albanian universities and will improve the ability of seafarers according to IMO standards and requirements of EU legislation.4

 The main goal of DiMTV, is the innovation and implementation of multimedia and digital television (MDTV) in Albania and Kosovo. The project has started its third year of implementation and has opened two masters’ departments and built a professional laboratory.

CLUSTER MEETING ON THE CBHE PROJECTS’ IMPACT IN THE WESTERN BALKANS

The Cluster Meeting on the CBHE Project’s Impact in the Western Balkans was held in Durres, Albania, on 22-23 October 2019. The Cluster Meeting was organised by EACEA, EAC and the NEO Albania in the framework of the CBHE action of the Erasmus + programme. It brought together 73 Joint Project and 15 Structural Project, more than 120 local stakeholders from the Higher Education (HE) sector as well as CBHE projects implemented in Western Balkans (WB), run in order to:

  • Discuss the EU funded projects/programmes impact on the WB HE sectors in terms of regional cooperation, modernisation, accessibility and internationalisation of the HE;
  • Provide local/regional visibility to the E+ programme and its funded projects, thereby contributing to maximising their impact;
  • Facilitate exchanges of good practice, sharing of knowledge and networking of CBHE projects to enhance their quality, impact and sustainability;
  • Reflect on the actual needs of the HE sectors in WB and on the way the future EU education programme for 2021-2027 could address these needs.

The two days meeting adopted a participatory approach and included a complementary mix of plenary sessions (e.g. testimonials from project coordinators), 4 interactive workshops and space for networking. This approach will be covered two aspects:

  1. Determine the state of play of the CBHE Programme in WB: through the exchange of best practices, identification of success stories as well as specific academic (/administrative /legal) constraints and difficulties linked to the implementation our international cooperation projects in WB.
  1. Discuss the impact and sustainability of project results in the HE sectors in WB: workshops and discussions will revolve around the following topics: regional cooperation, HEIs’ links with society and business, CBHE projects’ impact on HE systems as well as the modernisation, accessibility, quality and internationalisation of the HEIs in the WB.

The Regional Cluster Meeting also constituted a good opportunity to stimulate the analysis and debate on the current Erasmus+ programme and used this to nurtured the future EU education programme.

Erasmus Quiz- Erasmus Days – millions of people, thousands of events!

Erasmus + QUIZ organized on October 12, 2019 at Destin Coffee, by NEO Albania in the lieu of Erasmus Week. Over 10 million people have benefited from the Erasmus + Program, enriching their life experiences and helping build a more inclusive international community. From October 10-12, 2019, more than 3,000 events will celebrate the success of the Erasmus program in bringing together students and societies from around the world.

The Erasmus + Quiz consisted of the “Learning by playing” methodology, a knowledge contest on the Erasmus + program, and the cultures of the program’s constituent states. The activity gathered over 35 young people, including incoming students to Albania with the program “Exchange of Capacities”, as well as representatives from ESN-Tirana. The competition was divided into 4 categories of questions, the participants were organized in groups of 2-3 people, and competed. Participants received a modest gift while the winner a symbolic gift. The representatives exchanged views on European values ​​and discussed the experiences of mobility, concretizing the impact of the program.

Erasmus+ Quiz, the “Erasmus Days 2019” activity organized by NEO Albania

Erasmus+Quiz activity is one of many others activities organized in the City of Tirana during 10-12 October ErasmusDays. The quiz will be focused on Erasmus+ Programs and the students will be able to share with us knowledge and their different experiences. It is a precious opportunity also for the ones who would like to know more about the culture and the places involved in  Erasmus+.

Erasmus+ Office in Tirana kindly invites everybody who has any experience to share, who would like to know more about the Erasmus+ and everybody who would like to have some fun with us.

NEO and Albanian Coordinators of 2019 Call on CBHE programme

Today, on 02 October 2019, NEO staff and Albanian Coordinators of the CBHE programme, met at NEO office. During “2019 Call” on CBHE programme, Albanian HEIs were grated with 10 Projects.
