Survey Report, Impact of COVID19 on ICM

On the last week of June 2020, the National Erasmus+ Office in Albania launched a

short survey aimed at collecting information on the difficulties experienced during the

Covid-19 outbreak and measures adopted for addressing the situation, by International

Relation Offices at Albanian HEIs. Information at this report summarizes the effects stipulated by the Covid-19 outbreak on processes and their activities managed by the International

Relation Offices.

Some findings

  • 320 ICM agreements, which were active during this academic year
  • 239 Albanian staff (academic and administrative), which had to cancel their mobilities
  • 78 Open Call for the new mobilities, which were not launched
  • 37 Incoming students didn’t have the opportunity to visit and study at Albanian institutions
  • 16 Incoming students were studying in Albanian Institutions during the pandemic.

Erasmus +: Mobility projects for young people and youth workers

On 16 August 2020 at 18:30, was live on FB of the EU Delegation in Albania the activity

“Erasmus+ Mobility’s projects for young people and youth workers” The event was organized by the European Delegation, Europe House in cooperation with the National Office Erasmus + and Erasmus + Youth (Beyond Barriers. The activity was addressed to these questions:

– What are the opportunities for Albanian youth and students to study in Europe through the Erasmus + program?

– How can they apply to this program?

-What should they consider before, during and after applying?

During the activity Ms. Erida Curraj, Programme Officer of the National Erasmus + Office, informed the audience about the Erasmus+ HE’s opportunities, how to apply and some tips that Albanian youth and students should know before, during and after application. The main topics were related to the Jean Monnet programme and International Credit Mobilities.

Testimonies from the programme winners was shared during the event.

Former student of the Agricultural University of Tirana, Marina Xhaho, winner of the Erasmus + program at Pamukkale University, Turkey, testified that her experience as an Erasmus + student not only helped her to improve her academic skills but gave her a new perspective on life and facility for work applications as holder of Erasmus + certificate.

The last minutes of the activity were dedicated to the Q&A sessions.
