Invitation to the National HERE Seminar on “Re-evaluation of study programmes: link between study programmes and learning outcomes ”, on May 26th, 2017

The Albanian Erasmus + Office in cooperation with the Albanian HERE team (Higher Education Reform Experts), will organize on May 26th, 2017 at the premises of the Grand Palace Hotel in Korça, the national seminar on the “Re-evaluation of study programmes: the link between study programmes and learning outcomes”. (As detailed in the programme).

The HERE seminar will serve the reflection and discussion of issues such as the curricular mapping in higher education, the reforming of study programmes based on the new Higher Education Law, the link between learning outcomes and competences, transversal skills, student civic competences etc. It will bring together the management level and academic members of Albanian universities, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Education and Sports, government agencies in the Higher Education field, field experts etc.

The applications data in the Erasmus + opportunities are published.

The European Commission shared the regional comparative data for applications in Erasmus + actions received through the 2017 calls. Based on such data, the Albanian Higher Education Institutions have made a positive step and increased the number of applications in Erasmus + opportunities. In the 2017 call in the Erasmus + Capacity Building in Higher Education action, there were 13 projects submitted by an Albanian university applicant and 52 projects submitted with an Albanian university engaged as partner. Overall, Albania is the 2nd most successful country in the region for number of applications submitted, trailing only Serbia and leaving behind Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo and Montenegro.  Moreover, in the 2017 call in the Erasmus + Jean Monnet action there were 11 applications submitted by Albanian HEI’s, marking progressive grow compared to the 6 applications and 3 applications submitted in the respective 2016 and 2015 calls for this action

Mrs. Federica Mogherini, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy / Vice-President of the Commission, during her visit in Albania, held on March 3rd 2017, 17:00 hours, at the Polytechnic University of Tirana premises, a meeting with Albanian Erasmus students.

The Albanian Erasmus + Office in cooperation with the Albanian HERE team (Higher Education Reform Experts), will organize on November 7th, 2016 at the premises of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Tirana, the national seminar on the “Albanian Qualification Framework”. (As detailed in the programme below).

The HERE seminar will serve the introduction and discussion of current developments to the Albanian Qualification Framework and its implications in the Higher Education system and society at large. It will bring together the management level and academic members of Albanian universities, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Education and Sports, government agencies in the Higher Education field, national and EU experts etc.

Invitation to the “Erasmus + National Information Day” event

The Albanian Erasmus+ Office is pleased to invite you to the “Erasmus + National Information Day” event, to be held on October 26th, 2016, at the Polytechnic University of Tirana premises.

This event will serve to promote the international higher education dimension of the “Erasmus+ programme” and its proceedings will be split in two parts.

The first session (9:30-12:30) will target the Albanian Higher Education institutional applications in different components of the programme, such as:

– International Credit mobility;

–Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education;

– Jean Monnet programme;

– Joint Master Degrees for institutions;

 

The second session (13:30-15:00) will target the students and staff applications to different components of the programme, such as:

– Short term exchanges within the Erasmus Mundus partnerships and International Credit Mobility agreements;

– Degree Mobility through the existing possibilities within the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree components,

This event will gather the representatives from Albanian Universities, the Government of Albania, Executive Agency for Education, Culture & Audiovisual in Brussels, EU Delegation and other diplomatic missions in Albanian, HE experts and students.

This is an open event and we are welcoming the participation of all who are interested in the Erasmus+ programme.

Recommendations of the Round Table on ‘How to boost the participation of Albanian Higher Education Institution in Erasmus + and Horizon 2020 are published.

The proceedings of the round table on “How to boost the participation of Albanian Higher Education Institution in Erasmus + and Horizon 2020” served for the identification of challenges and recommendation of measures that could increase the participation of Albanian Higher Education Institutions in the Erasmus + and Horizon 2020 programmes.

The consolidated document of recommendations developed in the round table, can be found below.

This document of recommendations was presented to the Ministry of Education and Sport, for feeding the drafting process of the bylaws for the new law “On higher education and scientific research in higher education institutions in the Republic of Albania”.

Second round call in ERASMUS + KA1 “International Credit Mobilities”.

With funds left over from the first round of applications for international credit mobility, 11 National Agencies have chosen to open a second round of applications for the Western Balkans under the 2016 call for International Credit Mobility. The total available budget is of EUR 3.3 million, which will fund approximately 820 additional mobilities to and from the Western Balkans.

 

The second round of applications will close on 15 September 2016 at 12:00 noon  (Brussels time).

 

Any higher education institution is eligible to be part of a project application, including those that have already secured funding for a given project, or those that did not apply or were unsuccessful in securing funding for the first round of applications.

Round Table on ‘How to boost the participation of Albanian Higher Education Institution in Erasmus + and Horizon 2020.

The Albanian Erasmus + Office in cooperation with the Agency for Research, Technology and Innovation and the Technical Assistance for Union Programmes in Albania organized on May 26th, at Hotel Tirana International the round table on ‘How to boost the participation of Albanian Higher Education Institution in Erasmus + and Horizon 2020.

Prior to the round table, Ms. Belen Enciso, Project Officer from the Education Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency, EACEA conducted a working meeting with the Albanian Higher Education Reform Experts team.

The round table drew high interest and brought together around 100 representatives from state institutions in the higher education field, civil society, higher education reform experts as well as governing authorities, academic staff and international relation offices staff from public and private universities in Tirana, Elbasan, Shkodra, Korça, Vlora and Durres. This activity was greeted by Mr. Redi Shtino, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Sport and Ms. Belen Enciso, Project Officer from the Education Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency, EACEA.

During its proceedings, the round table participants worked in four parallel workshops and identified the main issues that currently restrain the participation of Albanian Higher Education Institutions in Erasmus + and Horizon 2020 programmes.

Subsequently, the round table conclusions structured as a recommendations document will be presented to the Ministry of Education and Sport, as inputs in the drafting process of the bylaws for the new law in “Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Albanian Higher Education Institutions”.

Field Monitoring Visit for Tempus Project “Empowering Universities to fulfil their Responsibility for Quality Assurance- EUREQA”

The NEO + staff and the country officer from EACEA, conducted the field monitoring visit on the Tempus EUREQA project. This activity ëas organized at UT’s Faculty of Economy premises, on May 25th, 2016.

The 3 year EUREQA project supported the University of Tirana, University of Korça and University of Shkodra in developing internal quality assurance systems as well as the transfer of good practices from EU universities through trainings, mentoring and study visits.

The project is coordinated by the European University Association, in Belgium and involves 17 partner institutions from Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Slovenia, Finland, Denmark, Portugal, Ireland, Kosovo, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Albania.
