Field Monitoring Visit for the Erasmus+ CBHE project “IT Governance for Albanian Universities – ITG4AU”

The NEO + staff conducted the field monitoring visit for the Erasmus + CBHE project “IT Governance for Albanian Universities – ITG4AU” This activity was organized at UT’s Faculty of Economy premises, on April 12th, 2018.

The 3 year (2017-20) ITG4AU project aims to develop, adapt and test a new ITG framework to be implemented in Albanian partner universities and increase capacities in this field.

The project is coordinated by the University of Balearic Islands, in Spain and involves 8 partner institutions from Spain, Germany, Norway, and Albania.

Field Monitoring Visit for the Erasmus+ CBHE project “K-Force”

The NEO + staff conducted the field monitoring visit for the Erasmus + CBHE project “Knowledge for Resilient Society, K-Force” This activity was organized at UT’s Faculty of Economy premises, on April 12th, 2018.

The 3 year (2016-19) K-Force project aims at improving regional resilience to hazards and capability for regional cooperation in risk prevention and response and ensuring national professional resources and regional capacities for building regional-based disaster preparedness and a culture of safety and resilience at all levels according to EU Integration Strategies and National relevant strategies.

The project is coordinated by the University of Novi Sad, in Serbia and involves 14 partner institutions from Serbia, FYRO Macedonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Sweden, Denmark, Slovakia, and Albania.

The Seminar on EU programmes HORIZON 2020 and Erasmus + was held in Tirana.

The Italian Institute of Culture in Tirana in cooperation with the Italian Agency for the Promotion of European Research-APRE and EU Delegation in Albania organised on March 13th 2018 the information seminar on Italian-Albanian cooperation opportunities in EU programmes HORIZON 2020 and Erasmus +. This event was greeted by His Excellency Mr Alberto Cutillo, Ambassador of Italy in Albania and attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, APRE, Albanian Agency for Research, Technology and Innovation, Albanian Erasmus + Office, and most of Albanian public and private HEIs. The seminar served to encourage the development of bilateral cooperation ideas in the view of the gathering of Italian Universities on 23-24 March 2018 in Albania, for participation in the 6th edition of “Study in Italy” fair.

During the event, Ms Bexholi, the local coordinator of the Albanian Erasmus + Office provided a picture of current Albanian–Italian cooperation in Erasmus + and laid forward a set of recommendations for future cooperation ideas in the programme, based on our national higher education priorities.

Erasmus + students information event was held on December 22 nd 2017.

The Albanian Erasmus+ Office held on December 22 nd 2017, at the “Tirana Times” library premises an open information session with Albanian students on Erasmus + programme opportunities. During this event, NEO staff provided the participants with information regarding short term academic exchanges and full time joint masters’ scholarships supported by the programme, as well as with practical information regarding the individual application processes and answered all their questions.

Discussion Table on “European Policies for Youth” was held on December 20th 2017.

The Albanian Erasmus + Office attended the discussion table on “European Policies for Youth” organised by the National Council of European Integration of the Albanian parliament and held on December 20th 2017 at the Palace of Congresses, in Tirana. The NEO coordinator provided a picture of the participation of Albanian Higher Education Institutions in the four implementation years of the Erasmus + programme. This event was chaired by the chair of the National Council of European Integration and attended by Albanian parliament lawmakers, University of Tirana rector, lecturers and students, Neo staff, business associations’ representatives etc.

Field Monitoring Visit for the Erasmus+ CBHE project “QAinAL”.

The NEO + staff conducted the field monitoring visit for the Erasmus+ CBHE project “Strategic Support on Strengthening the Quality Assurance Structures at the Private Higher Education Institutions in Albania – QAinAL”. This activity was conducted in a joint meeting, held on December 15th, 2017 at the University of “New York” in Tirana premises.

The 3 year (2015-18) QAinAL project aims to establish and support quality assurance processes and mechanisms to ensure effective management and enhance teaching and learning at the private higher education institutions in Albania. The project is coordinated by the University of Salzburg, in Austria and involves 13 partner institutions from Italy, Romania, Albania, and Kosovo.

Consultation meetings with Albanian universities on 2018 calls in Erasmus +.

The Albanian Erasmus+ Office held during 12-19 December 2017 a number of consultation meetings with Albanian Universities in the framework of the  2018 calls in Erasmus +.  This event served to present and discuss with project teams tasked by Albanian Universities in the preparation of project proposals the opportunities in the Higher International Dimension of Erasmus +, which include for Albania:

KA 1 International Credit Mobility activities;

KA 2 Capacity Building in Higher Education;

Jean Monnet programme focused in European Integration issues;

Representatives from University of Tirana, Polytechnic University of Tirana, University of Medicine in Tirana, University of Arts in Tirana, Aldent University and University Luarasi attended those events.

Consultation meeting between Albanian CBHE projects coordinators and contact points with Mr. Jose Gutierrez, Head of Unit in EACEA, held on November 30th, 2017.

Mr. Jose Gutierrez, Head of Unit in the Executives Agency of the Erasmus + programme  in Brussels, NEO staff and the Albanian project coordinators and contact points of capacity building projects selected in the Erasmus + 2017 CBHE call held a consultation meeting on November 30th, 2017 at the premises of the Albanian Erasmus + Office.

This activity served to discuss technical and financial aspects and answer Albanian partners’ questions in relation to the implementation of the newly selected CBHE projects.

Field Monitoring Visit for the Tempus project “DAPEEWB”.

The NEO + staff conducted the field monitoring visit for the Tempus project “Developing and Adapting Professional Programs for Energy Efficiency in the Western Balkans – DAPEEWB” This activity was organized at the premises of POLIS University in Tirana, on November 22nd, 2017.

The 3 year DAPEEWB project supported the modernization of education in Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro and meeting market needs by developing post-secondary professional programs in energy efficiency in 5 institutions from these countries.

The project is coordinated by the University of POLIS in Albania and involves 11 partner institutions from Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, Germany, Portugal, Slovakia and Netherlands.

Field monitoring visit for the Erasmus + CBHE project “Library Network Support Services”.

The Albanian Erasmus+ Office team and Mr. Albert SESE BALLART, policy officer in the DG for Education, Culture, and Youth conducted on November 16th, 2017 the field monitoring visit for the “Library Network Support Services-LNSS”. This activity was conducted in a joint meeting held at the National Erasmus + Office premises.

The Erasmus + CBHE project “Library Network Support Services” supports the modernization of libraries in partner country universities through staff development and reforming of their services.

The project is coordinated by the Limerick Institute of Technology, in Ireland and involves 12 partner institutions from Ireland, Germany, Great Britain, Romania, Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro and Kosovo.
