Field Monitoring Visit for the Erasmus + CBHE project “Library Network Support Services”

The NEO + staff and the country officer from EACEA, conducted the field monitoring visit on the Erasmus + CBHE project “Library Network Support Services”. This activity was organized at the Agricultural University of Tirana premises, on May 25th, 2016.

The Erasmus + CBHE project “Library Network Support Services” supports the modernising of libraries in partner country universities through staff development and reforming of their services.

The project is coordinated by the Limerick Institute of Technology, in Ireland and involves 12 partner institutions from Ireland, Germany, Great Britain, Romania, Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro and Kosovo.

“Information meeting on Erasmus +” held on May 24th, 2016

The “Erasmus + Information meeting” was held on May 24th, 2016 at  PUT’s Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning premises. This activity drew the interest and participation from the Polytechnic University of Tirana’s academic and administrative staff as well as its students.

This event introduced the participants with pertinent information on the current possibilities provided by the Erasmus + programme to the Albanian universities and students. In this regard, Mrs. Belen Enciso, project officer from EACEA and Mrs. Edit Dibra, NEO coordinator provided detailed presentations on the Erasmus + programme components, such as:

– KA2 “Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education;

– KA 1 International Credit mobility;

– Jean Monnet programme;

In addition the Albanian Erasmus+ office team informed the students on existing possibilities within the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degrees and Erasmus Mundus partnerships.

This event was also valuable for introducing some key elements that enable the preparation of successful project proposals in Erasmus + as well as discussing varies questions and issues raised by the participants about the programme.

Invitation to the “Information meeting on Erasmus +” on May 24th, 2016

The Albanian Erasmus+ Office and the Polytechnic University of Tirana are pleased to invite you to the “Information meeting on Erasmus +”, to be held on May 24th, 2016, 12:00-14:00 hours, at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning premises.

This event will serve to present the Erasmus + programme current possibilities for Albanian Higher Education Institutions and students, while providing detailed presentations on its key components, such as:

 

KA 1 International Credit mobility;

Albanian Higher Education Institutions can sign a credit mobility agreement with universities from Erasmus + programme countries. Such agreements comprise the possibility of implementing mobilities of students and staff which are financially supported by the EU. The mobility period ranges from 3-12 months for students and 5 days – 2 months for the academic and administrative staff. Short term mobilities will be implemented in different languages, based on those in use at the host university.

 

– KA2Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education”, or former Tempus projects, including a Special Mobility Strand for students and staff;

Capacity Building projects succeed former Tempus projects. Through such projects, the Albanian universities can support the modernization, accessibility and internationalization of their institutions, train their staff, improve their lab facilities etc.

Capacity Building projects may include a Special Mobility Strand addressed either to students or staff from Albania (3-12 months for students, 3-12 months for practice, and 5 days – 2 months for the academic and administrative staff).

 

– Jean Monnet programme;

The Jean Monnet programme supports initiatives dedicated to the European integration of Albania, in all possible teaching fields and disciplines, such as academic modules, advocacy events, etc.

 

– Joint Master Degree Scholarships;

Joint Master Degrees are offered by a consortium of Higher Education Institutions from EU countries. They award a joint diploma after the completion of a study programme implemented in two or more European HEIs. Albanian students can apply directly to earn the scholarship for the Joint Master or Joint PHD programmes.

This event will also serve to discuss some key points for the preparation of successful project proposals in Erasmus +.

European Voluntary Service celebrates 20 years!

The European Voluntary Service (EVS) celebrates its 20th anniversary!

 

The European Voluntary Service gives young people the opportunity to volunteer abroad, contributing with their efforts to a cause they believe in – be it solidarity with refugees and migrants, work on environmental issues, activities for children or the elderly, support for non-governmental organizations, work for cultural events or a number of other topics. Anyone between 17 and 30 years old can join and every volunteer receives support to cover travel and living costs, as well as pocket money and insurance.

As an organization you can get financial support to run a project involving an international volunteer in your activities. EVS volunteers can contribute with their enthusiasm, efforts and background to the work you are doing and add a truly inspiring international dimension to your organization’s environment.

Erasmus + Regional Information Days

The National Erasmus+ Office organized 6 (six) information days in all regional Albanian Public universities, where detailed information was provided on the 2016 Erasmus + institutional calls and on current possibilities for individuals within the programme. These events attracted a great turn-out of university student and staff, who engaged in the discussions and expressed their desire to participate in the Erasmus + programme.

Higher Education Institutions in Erasmus + International Credit Mobility projects.

DG EAC has recently published the list of Partner-Country Universities taking part in Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility projects selected in the first round of the 2015 Call for Proposals.

* Its worth noting that this list is neither exhaustive nor perfectly accurate. National Seminar on ‘Financing Higher Education Institutions in the framework of the new Law of Higher Education”

The Albanian Erasmus + Office in cooperation with the Albanian HERE team (Higher Education Reform Experts) organized on November 20, 2015 at the premises of University “Fan Noli” in Korca, the national seminar on “Financing Higher Education Institutions in the framework of the new Law of Higher Education”.

This event brought together academic staff members from universities in Tirana, Elbasan, Shkodra, Korca, Gjirokastra, Vlora, members of the National Commission on the Reform of Higher Education, as well as representatives from the EU Delegation, Ministry of Education and Sports etc. During this activity, the lectors introduced and discussed various issues pertaining to the financial management of Albanian HEIs, comprising the current financing scheme and the funding scheme foreseen by the new law of higher education.  In addition, Prof. Enora Pruvot provided inputs on various performance-based funding schemes and successful models of implementation.

In the end, the seminar conclusions were structured in the form of document of recommendations to be shared with the Ministry of Education and Sports and pertinent government agencies.

 

Erasmus + National Info Day” held on November 11th, 2015

Prior to the “Erasmus + National Info Day” event, on November 10th 2015, Mrs Belen Enciso, project officer from EACEA and Mrs. Edit Dibra the Albanian Erasmus+   office coordinator participated to the talk show “Pasidite në Top Channel”, where they presented the Albanian public with the funding possibilities within the framework of the Erasmus + programme. In addition, former beneficiaries of the Erasmus Mundus scholarships provided their feedback on their Erasmus experience.

The “Erasmus + National Info Day” event was held on November 11th, 2015, at the UT’s Faculty of Social Sciences premises. This event was attended by more than 200 participants, comprising the academic and administrative staff from different Albanian universities, Albanian government officials, EU officials, local and regional NEOs staff and students. The “Erasmus + National Info Day” was addressed by Mrs Nora Malaj, Deputy Minister of the MoES, Mr Edmond Rapti, Deputy Rector of UT and Mr Jan Rudolph Head of Political, Economic and Information Section in the EU Delegation in Albania.

The first session of the event was devoted to the Albanian Higher Education Institutions and the institutional applications to the upcoming calls in the Erasmus + programme. Mrs Belen Enciso, project officer from EACEA and Mrs Edit Dibra the NEO coordinator provided detailed presentations on the programme components:

–Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education;

– International Credit mobility;

– Jean Monnet programme;

The second session was devoted to the Albanian students and the possibilities for individuals within the Erasmus + programme. The Albanian Erasmus + office members provided presentations on the programme components:

– International Credit mobility for students;

– Degree Mobility through the existing possibilities within the Erasmus Mundus JMD and Erasmus Mundus partnerships;

In addition, former beneficiaries of the EM JMD and EM partnerships programmes provided their feedback on their Erasmus experience.

 

The event was concluded with a consultation meeting between Mrs Belen Enciso EACEA, the NEO staff and the contact persons of institutions  selected  in the Erasmus + 2015 CBHE call.

The Albanian Erasmus+ Office is pleased to invite you to the Erasmus + “National Information Day” event, to be held on November 11th, 2015, at the University of Tirana, Faculty of Social Sciences premises, starting from 9:00 AM.

This event will serve to promote the international higher education dimension of the “Erasmus+ programme”, and its current possibilities for the Albanian Higher Education Institutions and Individuals, while providing detailed presentations on its key components, such as:

– Degree Mobility through the existing possibilities within the Erasmus Mundus JMD, EM partnerships and ICM;

–Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education;

This event will gather the representatives from all Albanian universities, the Ministry of Education and Sport officials, experts from the Executive Agency for Education, Culture & Audiovisual, the Albanian Erasmus + office staff and students.
