<\/a><\/p>\nOn 9\u201310 October 2025, Tirana hosted the \u2018Study in Europe Events 2025\u2019, bringing
\ntogether many actors in HE sector such as policymakers, higher education institutions,
\nand international cooperation stakeholders both from Europe and WB region. The two-
\nday program featured two flagship events: the EU Policy Event\u00a0\u201cAdvancing Quality
\nAssurance and Recognition in the Western Balkans\u201d\u00a0and the Contact Building
\nSeminar\u00a0\u201cFostering Erasmus+ Cooperation with the Western Balkans.\u201d
\nOn 9 October 2025, the first day of events welcomed policymakers and higher
\neducation experts for a high-level policy dialogue on quality assurance and recognition
\nin higher education. It was organized by Academic Cooperation Association with the
\nsupport of the European Commission, this event contributed to the implementation of
\nthe 2025 Council Recommendation on a European QA and recognition system and
\naligned with the goals of the European Education Area – EEA.
\nOpening remarks were delivered by representatives of DG EAC, European Commission
\nand EU Delegation to Albania. In her keynote speech, the Director of the \u2018European
\nUniversity Association\u2019, highlighted the importance of quality assurance in building trust
\nand facilitating international cooperation in higher education area.
\nThe program featured a plenary panel on Albania developments in QA and recognition,
\ndrawing perspectives from the Western Balkans, Nordic, and Benelux regions, followed
\nby two thematic sessions. Discussions focused on institutional QA practices and the
\npractical implementation of automatic recognition of qualifications.
\nThis event provided a crucial platform for discussing the state of play in QA and
\nrecognition, sharing knowledge and expertise, aligning policies, and strengthening
\ncross-border cooperation in higher education.
\nOn the second day, the representatives of higher education institutions from the EU,
\nAlbania and the Western Balkans convened for the Contact Building Seminar, aimed at
\nfostering new institutional partnerships under Erasmus+. With a particular focus on
\nbuilding new partnerships for International Credit Mobility, Capacity Building in Higher
\nEducation and Erasmus Mundus Joint Master, the event brought together more than
\n150 participants both onsite and online via the b2match platform.
\nThe representative from the European Education and Culture Executive Agency
\noutlined the seminar\u2019s goals and practical benefits for participating institutions. The
\nmorning sessions provided detailed guidance on Erasmus+ opportunities and step-by-
\nstep advice for newcomers on how to draft successful applications in different actions of
\nthe program.
\nA panel discussion featured institutional representatives who shared first-hand
\nexperiences and strategies for navigating Erasmus+ challenges \u2014 from partnership
\ndevelopment to project management. In the afternoon, participants took part in pre-
\narranged bilateral matchmaking sessions, enabling targeted networking based on
\nacademic interests and strategic priorities.<\/p>\n
The seminar concluded with an invitation to attend the \u2018Study in Europe Fair Albania
\n2025\u2019, which was held the following day, 11 October 2025, further extending
\nopportunities for networking and cooperation.
\n\u2018Study in Europe Tirana Events 2025\u2019 once again demonstrated the EU\u2019s commitment to
\nenhancing international cooperation and strengthening the role of higher education in
\nthe Western Balkans.
\nThe last day of the events featured the \u2018Study in Europe Fair Albania 2025\u2019, organized
\nby Campus France, where EU universities welcomed students and high school pupils at
\ntheir stands, providing them with information about their academic offerings at all levels
\nof study.
\nThe Erasmus+ National Office was also present at the fair, where its representatives
\ninformed all interested participants about the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+
\nProgram for young people and Albanian students.
\nThis fair served as a comprehensive information platform, allowing young people to
\nreceive valuable information about EU universities and the procedures for studying in an
\nEU country, while at the same time enabling EU universities to become acquainted with
\nthe higher education system in Albania, which was promoted by the presenters during
\nthese activities.<\/p>\n
