On July 22, the inspiring meeting “Youth Engagement in European Integration: Harvesting the potential of digital movements and online activism in the reality after COVID19” was held on online platform of the GoToMeeting. The activity was organized by Science and Innovation Development Center (SCiDEV) and Erasmus Student Network Albania (ESN Albania).

Topics such as digital mobility, physical mobility VS virtual mobility, digital skills and internet activism in young people were the focus of discussions.

 Updates on the exchange and override and protection program throughout the pandemic were presented and discuss at the virtual roundtable.

Together with representatives from Regional Cooperation Council, Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO), National Erasmus+ Office in Albania, the Center Science and Innovation for Development (SCiDEV) and Erasmus Student Network Albania (ESN Albania) as well as their network of students, volunteers, young researchers, activists and professionals in research and development will discuss engagement of youth in European Integration in post-COVID19 reality. Topics such as digital mobility and online activism will be explored. Join us for a lively and inspiring discussion.

Dr. Blerjana Bino, Co-Founder of SCiDEV, pointed out that in view of the COVID19 pandemic and the digital transformation in higher education and civil society, the concepts of mobility, engagement and activism are being redefined.

Mr. Adem Gashi, Teal Leader i WB Youth Lab, Regional Cooperation Council, represented Regional Integration and the role of youth: RCC Approach. Mr. Fatos Mustafa, Deputy Secretary General, Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO) introduced Youth Cooperation and Activism and which are the ctual plans that RYCO is experiencing.

Dr. Erida Curraj, National Erasmus+ Office in Albania, stressed the challenges of university students and universities during the pandemic and highlighted the need for capacity building for both students and academics to cope with the new reality.

Ms Lutjona Lula, from ESN Albania explained challenges and efforts of international students during COVD19 in Albania and emphasised the role of ESN in networking students and supporting them with soft skills and non-formal education.

 Two students’ testimonies shared their experience, how wonderful is to be on a mobility

Rasmus Benke-Aberg, Director of Erasmus Student Network International, presented the results of the COVID impact at students mobilities undertaken during the first months of the lock down all over EU.
