Albanian Erasmus+ Office, in cooperation with the Higher Education Reform Experts group – HERE, held on March 4-5, 2024, in the premises of the “Aleksandër Xhuvani” University of Elbasan, the National Seminar on the topic: “Understanding Internationalization Process in Higher Education Institutions. Why do HEIs internationalize?”

ogether academic staff members from HEIs of Tirana, Durres, Elbasan, Shkodra, Korça, Gjirokastra, Vlora and experts in the field.
For two days, the seminar addressed one of the topics of the day for Higher Education in Albania, which is internationalization. Also, the seminar elaborated in detail how internationalization is perceived in the Albanian context; how it is valued and approached in our academic settings; what are the objectives, challenges, expectations and benefits that come from being part of it, etc.
The international expert Prof. Dr. Liviu Matei MAE, who was invited to this two-day seminar, shared with the participants his expertise, recent developments and best practices related to the process of internationalization in the field of Higher Education.
